I don’t think the Republican Party wants to elect a President. They seem to like a failing Federal Government (as long as it can keep fighting their wars) and if the President is a Democrat they have someone to blame. On the local level, all this nonsense (like the cartoon is ridiculing) may not be as stupid (politically) as it looks from where most readers of this cartoon are sitting. I hope I’m wrong on that point and that it backfires.

Legislators don’t have medical degrees, so see no need to scrub in, they just dive in with both feet – first. (Kind of a “reverse breech”)
