Stalin, Vladimir’s apparent idol, once said: “It matters not how many votes are cast; It only matters who COUNTs those votes!”
BTW: Hitler was a choir boy when his attrocities are compared to those of Stalin (wiped out 2 millian in Ukraine alone plus another estimated 25 million via war, internal purges and starvation) and Mao (between 50 and 100 million mentioned by LLeRay above).
Since the winners write the histories, true numbers of those murdered by Communism’ bloodiest leaders may never be known. Strange how that works.
Oh, well, as long as it’s only a few. I’d never realized there were degrees of mass murderers. “Back of the bus, Jack. You got a lot more ripping to do before you get to sit behind the driver.”
Yeah let’s have a really STRONG guy like Mitt Romney in the White House.
Boy howdy, now THERE’S a guy who’ll stand up to Putin….on Monday.
On Tuesday, he’ll make nice to the guy, and on Wednesday he won’t be sure where he stands on Russia, he’ll need more facts, and on Thursday it’ll be, “Later with this Russia stuff, okay? Right now, I’ve got taxes to cut.”
There are many others in the background behind even Stalin. The Russian people seem so dour and pessimistic — must have to do with the weather. It’s said the great Russian generals who won the wars against Napoleon and Hitler were named November and December. Putin is reported to look forward to global warming. He should be careful what to wish for.
Will the increase in personal communication devices change the situation? Will young people demand better international relations? Watch the music video of a few years back, “I Want a Man Like Putin!” U.S. presidential candidates, take note.
With the weakest President in office since Carter, this is the chance they have been waiting for. You’re giving David Brooks a run for his money with your spot on conservative commentary! (For those who don’t know me, that’s sarcasm.)
Well, Obama DID rely upon the intelligence gathered by Bush and the still in place Bush intel machine. Of course, Obama did leave in place plausible deniabilty for himself in case the Osama raid failed. And quickly all but claimed the he led the raid when it worked; a typical pattern for him. Meantime, ever bother to look where, in that part of the world, Bush placed US troops? Curiously, you’ll find them surrounding a certain country…

Putin is an odd combination of career criminal and crybaby. Did anybody else in history ever rig an election and then cry in public about it?
