Santorum’s “court” actually wrote the rules several hundred years before the Current Era, in Proverbs. It’s about the woman serving her husband from before dawn, ‘til after dark, and being essentially his property. And that’s just one citation out of all the “rules” the GUYS wrote!

The last operation I had, at the front registry desk, in the prep room, being wheeled through the hall-way, in the surgery – I was surrounded by women. (Only the doctor was male.) I thought, women are there when we’re born, raise us through childhood, comfort us in sickness, take care of us in old age, weep over our remains. They served humanity — they are the source of humanity — and were treated badly by men in spite of it.

What do men still fear? Is it such a strong hormonal prerogative that continues this social differentiation between genders? A few chemicals in the womb, and the fetus could have been male or female. It’s the cultural, not the mental aspects that keep women subjugated in many ways.

I wonder if Santorum’s wife and daughters secretly resent him as they stand on the stage. I grew up with people such as he seems to be. They had intelligent female relatives who sacrificed their talents to stay in the shadows of their priggish spouses. Oh, but what they said behind their backs! When I was little, I heard and I still remember. And in old age, the women boldly told bitter stories that were their only comfort after lives of servility. They would be so proud of the latest generation of successful women.

To some extent, what Mencken said is sadly still true: “Women have a hard time of it in this world. They are oppressed by man-made laws, man-made social customs, masculine egoism, the delusion of masculine superiority. Their one comfort is the assurance that, even though it may be impossible to prevail against man, it is always possible to enslave and torture a man.” (“The Incomparable Buzz-Saw,” 1919)

Just think how much contempt Dwight D. Eisenhower or William F. Buckley would have for Santorum (and rightly so.) For that matter, think how much fun Mencken or Mark Twain could have with him!

The group that is against government interference in health care wants to dictate health care and other constraints for women. This is what happens when you elect crazy people, like Santorum.

That’s strange…I always thought The Onion was a satirical “newspaper”, but in this case they seem spot on.Maybe the satire is in saying that Republican voters are realizing that Santorum actually believes all his bizarre statements. If that were true, how on earth could he be getting any votes?
