And yet, Elly, the time will come when you will LONG for the days when you were baking cookies with a three-year-old!

It’s nice having the kids help out. It makes them feel important, and it only takes twice as long as doing it by yourself.

My wife makes cookies with our 3 year old grandson all the time. It’s pretty much like that, especially wanting to skip the baking part and eating out of the mixing bowl.

Why insist that you can only put one eye on each bunny? I’m with Elizabeth — the more raisins in the cookies, the better.

When I made cookies with my mom, we never had to face problems like Ellie just faced

Good job Elly! Just suck the fun right out of it for Elizabeth. Years from now, this moment will come back and haunt you.

Wait, she’s going to let a child scrape out the bowl? As in EAT the RAW cookie dough!? Let’s hope it’s a no-egg recipe! Children that young have been known to die from salmonella. Salmonella is a horrid, horrid illness (I had it at 12 and I got it from raw cookie dough) and it’s not worth eating raw dough. People can go through their entire lives and not get sick even once but to me it’s not worth the risk, that’s just how bad it was to be sick. Especially for a child that young.

Told my friends’ husband to be,“She makes cookies.”

“Sometimes she even bakes them. "

Rather than make bunny-shaped cookies and go through all this . . . they should have just made chocolate chip or oatmeal-raisin cookies instead. The more (raisins / chocolate chips) the better! Plus, no icing sugar all over the place — including on Lizzie’s clothes. Not as cute as bunny cookies but easier to make and less stress involved. There! Problem solved.

I have memories of making things with my kids. One time my boys helped me bake bread. My daughter helped out with cookies. We all tried to have a taffy pull once, but it flopped. Those were the days.

There is nothing in the world that beats cooking with kids!.If I even go near the stove, my two grandkids grab chairs so they can help stir. ;) I love it. It takes twice as long, but I love it!

I normally love this strip. This one was a mistake. What is the memory? “I can’t make a cookie the right way.” I have enough of those memories and vowed by kids would not have them and they don’t. At the appropriate age, they figured out how to color in the lines. I am almost 55 and my mother ijs still trying to give me those memories. Now I ignore her and she wonders why.

always mess up cookies with too much baking soda — kids will not like cookies much after that — worked here.
