Gosh, because it tramples so much on religious freedom to ensure that women get access to the contraceptives that 99% of them use. :¬/ But then again, maybe she supports Santorum and the Republican candidates who favor stripping women of access to birth control as well as all other control over their bodies, because after all, the world needs more unwanted babies.

It’s an an affront to my religion to allow a women to hold a job. Lisa should be kept in the home barefoot and pregnant. To do otherwise is to declare war on my religion.

It is amazing to me how you all feel that people are free to choose unless they happen to disagree with you. Then they are idiots and biggots who are trying to strip away freedoms

You may have been unconscious last week, so let me fill you in. CATHOLICS DO NOT HAVE TO FUND THAT. Responsibility was shifted to the insurance companies. Thus religios freedom is safe.Untill a muslim wants to build a mosque…

Plenty of Catholic groups support the requirement that business provide comprehensive health care for their employees. It’s basic labor law, it’s already the law in 28 states, it was law in Massachusetts when Romney was governor. Maybe when the Council of Bishops includes some women, it will have some credibility when it comes to issues of women’s health. Until then, maybe they should keep out of politics.

This whole episode is unreal: a bunch of older men who covered up child rapists and pedophiles for years are arguing they should be able to deny contraception to the tens of thousands of non-catholic women working for catholic owned businesses.

It is amazing to me that those who complain about their religious freedom being compromized are those who are quick to impose their beliefs on others.

If you send a bill, it’s a business. Amazing how all the infringements on government like the “office of faith-based initiatives” (religious colonoscope into government) is “okey dokey”, but requiring them to ALLOW EMPLOYEES health care of THEIR CHOICE is “infringement” on “church rights”.

Oh no…they’re measured by how much stuff you get from big brother. By the way, there’s the first amendment, and the entire issue here is THE FIRST AMENDMENT. It would be nice if you collectivists would openly admit that you hate standardized laws which protect the rights of the citizenry, and prefer either a tyrannical rule of the mob or of an oligarchy.

Religion is about the heart, not the closed doors.

The “government” is only saying women can have insurance that will pay for THEIR medical needs, just as men can get Viagra. Odd, how not one single argument has been made from the “right” to STOP insurance from paying for that little “heart medication”. Hmm oddly, they also do not object to vasectomy (by and large). Maybe outright castration of some of the males opposing women’s rights would get their attention??

Religious freedom is the right to express and carry out your religious beliefs. It is NOT the right to dictate to government, nor to dictate medical requirements… but, lets do this… they have choice of either being able to express themselves politically or pay taxes (America has decided corporations are people)….. see what religions opt for.. the money or the box..
