And who would have won if you hadn’t been caught?

Been there. Done that. I was sitting on a porch swing with a friend’s 8 month old son while she was sitting on the bench next to us. He bailed off the swing without warning, and I caught him about four inches from the floor. His mom didn’t bat an eye. She just said very calmly, “Good catch.”

Being dense today, I guess. I’ve always gotten this strip before (unlike Arlo and Janis), but what’s the deal with the thing on Andy’s arm that says “ow”?

Andy said “Ow” because his face hit the floor.

Yep I learned this lesson as a new dad – no injuries fortunately. After that I always changed my kids on the floor with one hand on a belly to prevent scooting away!

The other “thing” is the end of the stripe on his sweater.

My mother said I rolled off the bed when I was a baby, and as my dad felt my arms and legs, he said to her “I won’t tell your mother if you won’t tell mine”. You never think of your parents as being insecure…

At least he learned that babies DO NOT stay put.

My kids ran around the room bottomless while I searched for the Pampers and powder. They don’t stay put at all at that age. Andy’s really getting in practice. It’s ashame though he was injured.

It’s a good experience for a young man. Reminds him why he should always carry a raincoat and put it on before he gets anywhere wet.

Andy deserves to be in the banner above the strip. Even the dog is there! Phil is there! Andy is a good kid! Heck, by that save of Luci above, I would say he is a GREAT kid!

I’d get the diaper and other equipment first, then put the baby down.

I was babysitting my nephews once when they were abut three and two and I let them go downstairs to play while I picked up the living room. You wouldn’t believe the mess they made in the basement in the five minutes it took me to clean up. My brother didn’t believe they could do so much so fast, until a couple weks later when the same thing happened to him.

The same thing happened to me. I flipped off the kitchen counter, but mom didn’t catch me. She says I had a goose egg on my head. I’m lucky to be alive.

It’s safer to change diapers on the floor then on something high. Just lay the changing pad on the floor and get to work.

Every time me or my ex-wife wanted to change our oldest son, we used to do it on the bed whenever possible, and right in the middle of it. The thing is that when he was old enough to crawl, as soon as we took the dirty dipper off he would turn around and crawl really fast, while laughing, to the top of the bed, lol
