There are only two kinds of folks objecting to “greening” the economy, idiots and “conservatives” (of all “parties”). Wait, maybe that’s only one?

Can’t legislate technological advancement or cost feasibility. I’d love to run on Hydrogen: solar-powered electrolysis or produced by algae, but the technology is not there yet.

With due respect, Jack , you might want to face some reality, from the attacks on AGW, to the frauds put out about electric and hybrid vehicles, to destruction of our land for “resource extraction” ignoring ALL impacts on future generations.

Is it too much to ask that Ramirez have SOME relation to reality? Oil drilling is up, green technology is doing quite well. Is there some Fox story I missed?

Try to buy a new Saab, Pontiac, DeSoto, Oldsmobile, or several other “brands” that have built good products, and still went belly up because of poor management.

I’d rather see green energy before electric cars as in areas where coal is dominant power supply its barely an upgrade. not to mention that solar, wind, hydro, tide, nuclear all create about 2x more jobs than a coal plant and pay higher wages thanks to only requiring man hours and initial investment. Sell bonds to pay for it.

If Obama cured diabetes, this guy would draw a cartoon saying Obama has failed to cure emphysema. He’s a one track mind cartoonists. He doesn’t draw as good as Glenn McCoy..

Some people lack vision. Electric cars will be more powerful, have better acceleration, and zero emissions very soon! Cheaper too! One day, it will seem moronic that some people (cough-RePUBlicans), clung so long to fossil fuels.

good god that was the most retarded thing I’ve read. I could actually feel my brain shriveling up. First, 100% Pay taxes. What you are thinking of is the 47% who pay no INCOME taxes, because that would push them below, or farther down the poverty line. Those 47% STILL PAY State Tax, Excise Tax, Sales Tax ect. Second, you have no proof that the 51% are CONsrvatives. I could just as easily say that Barack Obama and Harry Reid are employed and thus pay income taxes, while Newt Gingrich and Willard Romney are Unemployed, and thus, DON’T. I could, but I’m not that stupid.

The 47% that pay no federal income taxes, also don’t pay any state income taxes. They do pay some of the consumption based taxes, albeit most participate in the underground – cash economy that produces no tax revenue at all..Most of the 47% also partake of social ‘safety net’ – funded by the actual taxpayers..How many of the 47% are Republicans?.Ergo, the Democratic party loves poor people – so they make more of them . . . . to expand their constituency.

he’d be too stupid, stubborn and lazy to go get gas…he’d just “redistribute” the next car that drove by to himself, for the “greater good”…

Chevy Volt…how wonderful….$billions in federal grants & bailouts….costs new owner $40,000 and more buyer subsidies by state & fed incentives….driving range lower than 1901 electric vehicles built by Waverly or Columbia…..to save $8,000 over life of vehicle on using electricity instead of fossil fuel but paying $23,000 for recharging using polluting carbon/dioxide power generation. duh! Unsafe in impacts in road crashes….unsafe for vehicle fires…and “loser” in big-car versus small car accidents….IMO, No Thanks. (Not to mention being stranded as Ramirez’ ’toon illustrates)

Its interesting that CONservatives are so against subsidies now, when they fought tooth and nail to make sure govenment kept giving subsidies to oil companys for over 100 years. By the way, The subsidies given to “green energy", Nowhere NEAR as much as given to Oil companys.(Although to be fair to CON’s, much like health care, they were in favor of it untill Obama was. CONservatives have those kind of convictions after all.)
