A few days after I got my driver’s license, the next door neighbor knocked on the door, handed me the keys to his almost new Cadillac and told me to take it out for a drive. He said he wanted me to drive a “real car.” He was a retired/disabled auto mechanic and always was working on someone’s car. I went as far as the elementary school in the neighborhood (about a mile), turned around and came home. I was so scared someone was going to hit me.
