So, why does she look so disappointed?

She needs to get a second opinion if she can afford to.

Usually they give you a pessimistic prognosis…
If they are right, you can’t sue.
If they are wrong, you won’t sue.
And they can make big bucks “curing” you, even though there might not have been anything wrong.
