Just to remember, unlike for iraq, we are over there because an organization in the country attacked us and continues to attack us or our allies. The whole thing might be f-ed up but we just didn’t attack the “country” for no good reason at all.
Got to wonder if they are intentionally that stupid to think it wouldn´t be discovered just to make a scene in the war – or just plain stupid expecting it wouldn´t be discovered placing it on the internet…Also in regards to conventions – the terrorists arent following any conventions, and when fighting those you shouldn´t either (those you know are terrorists not just think they are).
“International Law is very clear: any nation unconditionally defeated can have any or all or its citizens executed by whatever means the victors choose.”
I hope you’re being sarcastic. Genocide is a war crime, regardless of whether it was done by the victor or the vanquished. It’s certainly not moral.
“Also in regards to conventions – the terrorists arent following any conventions, and when fighting those you shouldn´t either (those you know are terrorists not just think they are).”
“They don’t play by the rules so neither should we?”If we’re seeing ourselves as “the Good Guys”, we need to act like it.
Bush was more concerned about CONTRACTORS being held to criminal acts in a “post-war” Iraq, not our troops. Gotta’ defend the party funding base.
As to the ’toon, it is rather incredible that what we do to people is only “wrong” if filmed. It WAS the photos that got Germans and Japanese executed after WW II, not merely the “charges” against them.
There are only two ways to fight a war (1) you either do not go in in the first place or (2) you give your troops card blanch to do whatever is necessary to win. That said, frames 3 and 4 had nothing to do with winning. What they demonstrate are arrogant and/or unthinking soldiers and/or poorly trained and disciplined soldiers…shame on them, shame on us.

A and B are terribly wrong. C is insulting and boorish. Without D, how would we know?

first you need a definition of what ‘winning the war’ is and means.
you gonna do nation building?you ganna leave a power vacuum behind?you gonna install your own tyrant?
on what time scale do you measure ‘winning’?
simple ignorant statements, like ‘winning’.
