So nice of you to let the old lady come down off the ladder for a break. :) But Arnold, where’s your hard hat?

Going back two days, when I asked how New Orleans would have fared if left to itself to clean up; I have just discovered that it took FIVE DAYS to get drinking water to the Superdome. And this from a storm that everyone knew was coming, days before it hit. But it’s not just drinking water they lack in Haiti (or in other disaster areas); they need clean water to bathe in. And to get clean water, they have to go to crowded camps where the sanitation can get a bit dodgy, and MORE diseases develop. I’ve just run across a TED talk that offers help for people without clean drinking water: http://preview.tinyurl.com/nuntco

Is she re-thinking her decision, if she made one??

It sounds like maybe she made a decision in her mind before she went to Haiti, and now she’s fishing for information. My guess is that once she realizes that he’s here for the long haul, she will enjoy her trip with him and then leave without him.

@lightenup, I think you’re right. This relationship is going to endure, but stay right where it is. Not a bad place to be, though.

Evie is too family oriented to live like this for very long at a stretch.

Now, see, Arnold has the right idea: love is an action, not just a feeling. I’m more like the guy in “The Brothers Karamazov” who says (paraphrased): “The more I love humanity collectively, the more ready I am to kill the guy next to me who keeps fidgeting.”

Aww I was hoping to see her dump the bucket on his head after yesterday’s comment about old ladies. ;-)

Now, Evie took a one-way ticket to Haiti; Arnold’s staying until the 500 houses are done. Was Evie planning the same thing, without knowing Arnold’s intent? Will they marry and laugh about old ladies on ladders? Will Evie empty the bucket of hurricane clips on Arnold’s head? Tune in tomorrow for more surprises! :)

Reminds me of my favorite Linus van Pelt quote: “I love mankind; it’s people I can’t stand.” Now that’s a tshirt I could get behind.

It was Cortes who burnt his ships, not Coronado or Pizarro.

An “OLD LADY” CAN’T POUND NAILS FOREVER. HIS BEARD IS BLACK & WHITE, SO HE’S YOUNGER THAN SHE. WILL SHE STAY IN HER COT/LEAN-TO, WHILE HE POUNDS NAILS IN AFRICA OR ?? TUNE IN WHEN 500 HOUSES ARE DONE. PS: SHE’LL MISS THE G/KIDS. COME HOME & FLIRT WITH THE GROCER OR TEACHER, GANNY. WHAT KIND OF GUY IS THIS, AN EX CRIMINAL, OR WHAT?
