In Cajun biology classes, do they dissect frogs followed by deep-frying/eating its kegs?

I would think not, if the frog is preserved in formaldehyde.

I don’t know how I ever got away with not dissecting earthworms in high school biology.

When I was 15 I buried a small bird I found dead. A day or so later, out of curiousity, I dug it up and found some pupae (cocoons) on it. I put them in a jar and a few days later I noticed 2 things: the papae were open and some houseflies were flying around. For years after that I went whacko whenever I saw a housefly.

the fertilized egg development was the worst for me – opening an egg each day to see the stages of development. so gross. to this day i can’t eat eggs.

When I had biology in high school, my teacher gave us the choice to either do the dissection part, or go into the other room and study instead; I always did the studying.

We got to dissect a calf in Freshman biology. The teacher was also a rancher and one of his calves was hit and killed by a school bus one morn. He brought it in for us to examine. Most of us had butchered before but this was different, actually taking and and inspecting the various organs, not just saving the edible ones.

We dissected frogs in freshman high school biology. One of the live specimens somehow got fatally injured (between the lid and the container?), so the teacher took the opportunity to show us how adrenalin and then nicotine affected the poor thing’s heart. Yes, the nicotine quickly stopped his heart, which was just as well.

Anatomy and physiology now has people working with human bodies. I’ve seen enough episodes of CSI to not want to do that.

We dissected little squids in middle school, and then the teacher fried them up for us to eat. Mostly tasted like the garlic she put on them.

Dissections? Formaldehyde? Frogs? Calamari? What’s the problem — I do it every day!
