Off-topic story: When my older brother went on an English-teaching internship in China for college a few years ago, he asked what I wanted as a souvenir. I thought of a Great Wall of China snowglobe. He actually got me one!

You know… I don’t think I ever thought about it before but I think it DOES snow in some parts along the Great Wall.

On a side note. I wish Mr. Amend will go back to producing dailies someday.

She must be in New York.. we haven’t had one snow fall since a out of season storm in October and the school kids are getting desperate X_x

One time in high school, the radar showed a MASSIVE snow storm heading toward us, everyone got super pumped for a snow day (because the current superintendant at the time would rather die than cancel school)…..and then we watched the storm PART around our district and reform past us.

What school schedules math tests on MLK Day?

I wish we could get snow to last longer for more than a day here in Happy Valley. sighs wistfully

Ah, the problem with lead-time. LAST Sunday this strip would have been perfect, as we hadn’t yet had a snowfall worth talking about this winter, and temperatures were still hitting mid-40s and even low 50s during the day (this is in the Chicago area). THIS Sunday… temps in the 20s, six inches of snow on the ground, and a pretty much “normal” winter forecast from here on out.

Wait a minute. Wouldn’t she have school off anyway since it’s Martin Luther King Day tomorrow?

There’s still no snow here in Boston. Who has school on Martin Luther King Day!?

New Jersey: 2 inches of snow, school is closed. Wisconsin: 2 feet of snow, school is still open.

That seems to be the only way we’ll get snow this year….

Does anybody get it? Bill Amend lives in Kansas City, MO. Our winter was HORRIBLE, we had no snow.
