Miami Dolphins record after 15 games using a gimmick offense: 11-4 (they started using the wildcat in the third game of the 2008 season, made the playoffs, and lost in the wild card round)..Miami Dolphins record after 31 games using a gimmick offense: 18-13 (they finished 7-9 in the 2009 season, and didn’t make the playoffs)..Miami Dolphins record after 47 games using a gimmick offense: 25-22 (noticing a trend?)..Talk to me about where the Broncos are, both offensively and as an overall franchise, at the end of next year.

If any other QB had a 33% completion rate at best after 30-50 minutes of football, and then suddenly had flashes of Sammy Baugh-class brilliance at the last minute, he would rightfully be labeled “streaky”..But since this is Tim Tebow, for some reason, certain people feel the need to make excuses for him that they wouldn’t for, say, Rex Grossman or Matt Cassel.
