    I agree, TimeWeaver. While they have a billion or so people to make things cheaply, that sure it’s going to make them creative and innovative. Recently, some manufacturers are realizing that it’s more cost effective to make their product closer to the consumers, and the U.S. is a big one. On the other hand, we can’t get complacent, and stop working hard to encourage innovation and technical knowledge. The Chinese (and other Asian countries) are very good at supporting education with emphasis on science, math and technology, while we love watching people on TV acting moronic. Wonder which culture will have a shortage of educated professionals?

    I’ve read that one furniture manufacturer brought his business back from China as his costly air fares were more than eating up his savings as he commuted back and forth to manage the factory.
