Why can’t you libs get it – when the rich spend money, WE are the ones who get that money they spent! It’s not perfect but it’s a lot better than your side has ever come up with.

^proportionately, the problem is the rich DON’T SPEND, they “reinvest”, in markets that have nothing to do with the markets of working “producers”. You’re “WE”, don’t see squat.

Given that the rich have a greater percentage of the wealth now than ever before, and the unemployment rate is very high…why do the Republicans keep telling us that giving more money to the rich creates jobs?It obviously doesn’t, or we wouldn’t have so much unemployment now.

fennec….as I understand the Marie Antoinette quote, she just didn’t realise that ordinary people never had cake, she never meant it maliciously. She was protected from the reality of the situation.

This is always based on assuming there is a limit on the pie size; that the rich are stealing your pie. Their wealth compared to your wealth is certainly in different proportion. But you also have the ability to make your own pie; eg Steve Jobs, Bill Gates. The majority of people don’t want to take risk or put in the effort to make there own business or unique niche because it is hard work. The richest people i have known have been the hardest workers I have ever seen. they worked much harder than i would ever care to.

The “university” keeps raising tuition and gets grants from the Federal Government. Maybe the 47% of workers who don’t pay federal income taxes need to pay their fair share.

Lalo keeps touting the “class warfare” propaganda, acting like the Democrat-Socialist lap dog. When Obama’s SS comes after HIS money, who will Lalo blame? Republicans? No, they’ll be dead or in prison.

Obama doesn’t have an SS. Anyone who believes he even wants one probably believes that humans don’t cause climate change and that giving tax cuts to the wealthy helps the economy. Please, save your fairy tales for idiots.

Norquist (on MSNBC actually and treated fairly) kept using the phrase “individuals” to represent “CORPORATIONS”, which just might reflect the view of AEI, and the real controllers of wealth?? Thanks, SCOTUS big five.

“Who is this “we” you speak of?…”

    __I didn’t say “we”… I was quoting sclark55 — and disagreeing with him.

“@David MCQueenAnd, as I posted, I don’t see the rich making any exceptional contribution to my livelihood. The 1% have money because the 99% give it to them.”

__I don’t se the 1% making any real contribution to much of anything but their own accumulation of wealth.

Jobs are created by demand for goods and services , not by making the 1% even more obscenely rich. The rich sit on their assets until they see a safe investment. Given that they are richer now than ever in history, why aren’t they creating jobs?

That’s how it is in my country. The poor choose to give money to the rich because they choose to eat, be clothed, have shelter. If they choose not to have those things, then they don’t have to give money to the rich.

It’s time to raise taxes on the wealthy, taxing their bonuses, especially. It’s also time to raise the capital gains tax and close the corporate loopholes.
