here’s my favorite statistic for all you 1%ers…check out the last two tax returns of the saintly/generous joseph q. biden and seehow big his heart is…and be sure to note what percentage of his donation is in old clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you guys are great in giving away others money, but not so much with your own…
1% is a symbol. There ARE many in that 1% of “wealth” who have repeatedly stated they’re more than willing to “share”, and by moral obligation, and the status of their making wealth from this nation, as nowhere else until very recently, they have “stepped up to the plate”. Many on the “left” have noted that, and well, the fact that those stepping up ARE (generally) LIBERALS, in the moral, social, and intellectual sense.
The problem with the simple-minded, like Limbots and others who seize on a simple theme to lock into their limited intellects and literacy, is that no amount of rational exposition of the real facts will impress them. “Sound bite nation” is mentally AND morally corrupt, like those on Wall Street, Banking, and yes, “government” who have SCREWED the people for personal gain, power, or money and “holdings”. Yes, some of them ARE “Democrats”, though many of them are “blue dogs”. It is NOT a matter of which “political” party a person comes from, but the MORAL group they identify with. Those for illegal wars, excess profits, tax dodging by regulation, and total self interest, just happen to be “conservatives” on the extreme right of the political world. If they aren’t careful, and don’t wake up, the entire world WILL tip irrevocably off its foundation, physically as well as metaphorically, and THEY will be responsible.
I speak as a foreigner.1. The “99%” movement is more about fairness than redistribution of wealth. Among others, this includes:a. universal health careb. accessible educationThe World finds it amazing that the USA does not have these common graces that just about every country already has, with the exception of Somalia and another impoverished African country..2. On the other hand, the world is also amazed at the altruism of USA’s wealthy. Bill Gates is not compelled to give away one cent of his legal earnings. I was no great fan of his until he started his charities. He will probably be remembered as the guy who eliminated malaria.Before you criticise his level of charity, go and create your own successful multi-billion dollar company and give away your share. Go on, do something that will change the world, big time. BTW, that is what he has, shares, not $ in the bank.

He’s got it backwards, the 1% are paying about 35% of the tax burden in this country, so I think it should be the 99% sitting on top of the 1%.
