boy: My grandma says she had to walk five miles to school! boy student: My great uncle says he walked to school in weather so cold his burps froze! girl: My grandpa says he had to walk uphill both ways! Caulfield: My dad had to take a bus across town even though he lived a block away from school. What? I bet we'd learn from history better if it was more believable to begin with.

DA-YUM! Not sure if I’d be heartened at the kids innocence, or frightened of their vulnerability to allow such wrongness to happen again, perhaps just in a slightly different form.

It was either due to segregation OR bussing! And the bussing story could come from anyone! Massa had to even things up!
