Red: I'm taking a picture of my all-time greatest stash of Halloween candy. Rover: Take a photo of my all-time greatest stash of Halloween doggy treats!
I don’t know what’s more disturbing: the size of Rover’s doggy-treat-filled belly, or the fact that Red managed to collect enough candy to get him and his whole class sick. .This is just wrong!
Candy was never my favorite treat. Besides Chocolate is bad for our buds. (dogs) The best for me was always popcorn balls. THOSE I could share with “Buster”. And BOY, did we share! Ah, those were the days. :)
Look at that round belly!!I’m totally fine with smaller sizes. After that, it’s just too much and makes my tummy ache. Anything more than that seems greedy.
The greatest haul that I got from one house happened over 50 years ago. My friend ( who was the local paperboy) and I went to this house on his route. All the kids stayed away from it because the bachelor that lived there had 3 or 4 big barking dogs in his yard. When we went to his door he gave us each a large candy bar, a bottle of coke and 50 cents. My biggest disappointment was finding out that our teacher had given any student of hers that stopped by, a caramel apple. I didn’t get to her house.
When I was a kid in small-town Indiana, one rich and nice family provided personal-sized pumpkin pies. They had tables set up in their large garage, filled with these little gems. I think every kid in town went by there.
@mkhill: wasn’t really part of our culture. Do remember Guy Fawkes (November 5th) and seeing some ‘Guys’. In recent years the ol’ British-Guy Fawkes tradition is fading out and the US Halloween (candies, costumes, parties) is becoming more popular.

Wow! That’s how it was way back then. And you would get full sized candy bars not the tiny ones they make today. So many fun memories.

Yes, 60yrs ago it was popcorn balls, candie apples, and home made fudge, all wrapped in wax paper.
