I don’t mean to bust anyone out, however, I saw this comic before. I grew up reading the comics in the sixties and as and adult continued to read the comics regularly. I can’t remember if it was the late 60’s or early 70’s, but it was when Bushmiller was still alive and drawing..The comic is redrawn and even the delivery is slightly different, but it is the same joke..To be fair I caught them doing that with B.C. also..I admit that in both cases it was about a generation or more ago and the majority of the readers probably weren’t even born yet, so it is fresh to them. And truth is, most people my age wouldn’t remember a small detail that far back.. I tend to remember more small facts 40 years ago, then I do last week. lol. When the first cartoonist to succeed Bushmiller fist took over Nancy, he borrowed from the past a lot, and he did not bother to carefully go so far back, his were just a few years. And his were more verbatim, he didn’t even bother changing the delivery to the punchline.

I said it was fresh to a yonger group of readers. And I gave them credit for updating it a little instead of a carbon copy.

It’s pretty clear from reading the comments on this site that there are two reasons guys love this comic. Fritzi.

I found 4th grade arithmetic to be rough. Came home one day and dad asked “How did you do in arithmetic today?” I responded, “Well, er, I did better today than yesterday.” “That’s good, but what did you get today?” “52” “52? What did you get yesterday?” “48” (Believe it or not, by time of HS Algebra, was zipping along.)

The old classic comics such as Nancy, Peanuts, and Blondie are great.

There are no new jokes, just how they are presented.
