If she worked at Mickey D’s for a few years at minimum wage, then delivered mail at either 12 degrees below zero in a snow storm, or at 120 degrees above in Arizona- walking seven miles a day- either way- she might figure out why minimum wage jobs aren’t “cool”, and why many (yes, but not all) postal workers more than earn their benefits- which Republicans have tried for years to cut. PO people DO have better benefits than the rest of the Federal government’s employees- oddly, the fact that it became an “independent corporation” had a lot to do with that. The difference between that and “privatization” is that the people doing the work got the benefits, not just the CEOs. Those Walton “sons and daughters of Sam” work sooooo hard for their billions!
I am a member of the SEIU, and we have been taking a beating on the popularity polls as well. I will tell you that our benefits are great, but the pay stinks. I came over from being an assistant manager for McDonalds, 8 years service, and took a pay cut to do it. Yes the assistant manager for McDonald’s makes more than your local welfare caseworker, who is responsable for giving away your tax dollars.
Teabaggers and their repubtard clones absolutely hate everything in the Constitution, but especially the preamble- which defines the whole purpose of the document, and the nation- it’s their odd way of showing “patriotism”.
