Reaganomics, and yes, especially Bush, built and refused to maintain the bridge, period. Perry and the other pinheads the GOP considers “darlings” are sawing away further at the cables, and their supporters aren’t looking to the bottom of the canyon at the crocodiles in the water.
The last Republican governor of my state presided over the worst/deadliest bridge collapse in state history. Part of the reason was inadequate funding of bridge inspection and repair. AFTER the collapse, that Republican governor further REDUCED funding for Mn/DoT (who oversees inspection and repair) rather than raise taxes. To this day, I cannot cross a state funded bridge without wondering if it’s going to collapse under me.Why do I think the country is on the wrong track? Because because taxs cut for the wealthy few are apparently more important than the safety and lives of the general public.
^Perry is a whack job touting even more extremist religious views that are in fact prohibited by Article Six of the Constitution for any position in government in the “real” United States “…no religious test shall EVER be required”. That should also apply to IMPLIED religious tests today.
It isn’t about “federal”. Palin, Paul, no, Ima, your logic is what is flawed, just like most of the “candidates” the extreme right is dragging out of the bushes, or maybe from under various rocks.

Or, Eryx, they figure being airheads makes them lighter, and less likely to put pressure on the infrastructure they’ve allowed to collapse?
