A nice subtle slam at the hippies generation.

So that’s the plan Gene’s talking about.

Hey – its a plan! Young people gotta have their dreams, and do what they can to make them work. If they fail, at least they tried. Tis better to have tried, than to have regrets about not trying.

There are lots of fine restaurants out there that only by local produce from farms that use sustainable techniques. Those kids could make a very nice living that way, but there’s plenty of hard work involved.

I’m sticking to my original theory. Gene & ML get the schooner and give it to A&J, who give them the seed money to start their little farm.

I’d love to see A&J sailing up the eastern seaboard, maybe even visiting Cuba again. When they come back, ML might even give them the same surprise greeting she gave Gene in ’97!

Back in the seventies it was assumed that hard work would be enough to run a farm. Nope, like everything else, you need to go to college to study business, find out about the various techniques, philosophies and modern methods. Ideals and hard work are not enough….

I wonder if Gus knows that his entire staff is planning to leave the restaurant to take up farming?

@Varnes – remember that JJ has NEVER revealed Gene’s college major. It could be business.
