I may be a dumb New Englander, but up here we have a strange folklore—-Salt attracks bugs!

the word is “larva” and it is still a moth, just not a mature moth. it’s does not change it’s species just because it metamorphoses. so moths (larval moths) do eat cotton fibres. they do not eat linen or polyesters.

i think what confuses with this is the reference to seafood and steak. moths just don’t eat those. ever. so why would the know or care what the seasoning does to them.

season – seasoning – steak….too early in the morning

Thanks ne7minder55 but isn’t there more to it? Why insects, for instance. Perhaps they are moths, hence sweaters are in the diet?

Clothes moths also eat fur and feathers and (from personal experience) are particularly attracted to (horseshoe) crab!

Forget the salt. Sweater season usually means the time of the year that you can wear sweaters. In this strip, it means that sweaters are in season, kind of like deer season, turkey season…
