Fun fact! I once worked at a Chinese restaurant. The owner wasn’t from China, though. He was from Singapore. And his wife was Korean.

What does this have to do with the comic at hand? Uh…

    Hey, look over there! Penguins!

    Good cartoon.

Thanks to Cheney/Bush we owe them billions, and they know it. Like Afghanistan Cheney/Bush left Obama (and the rest of us) a mess.

Don’t bring up the fact the Obama and Democrats are spending money like crazy, Cheney/Bush and the Republicans spent money like crazy, kept the facts from us, and used the money for wars, tax refunds to the rich, and spying on us.

I like the fact that ken and scott are just about polar opposites of each other. It amuses me.

The moment you resort to poor, baseless statements such as “Osama” when referring to Obama you really lose all credibility in your arguments. It’s really no different than calling someone a Nazi or Hitler. As much as I dislike Bush and Palin even I have enough respect and decency to remain somewhat civil when referring to them. Or is that a Liberal vs. Conservative thing [respect and common decency]?

Y’know…I enjoyed reading these comments at first. I really enjoy all the comics. But I am so disgusted by what I read in here, sometimes…here is a paste of something I wrote about 5 minutes ago, after reading some other chatter… “both extreme sides of the political spectrum have shown a lack of respect to opposing views.” - This is the most truth I’ve read in these ‘comments’ since I began reading them earlier this month. The Democrats hate the Republicans, & vice-versa…I suppose they just enjoy hating each other. But hey…look….THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM IS CORRUPT. In fact, to quote Dr. Michael Hill, “The federal regime is a corrupt criminal enterprise”. What we need here are solutions. Making fun of ‘the other side’ solves nothing, though I suppose it’s some fun for weak-minded folks. - By the way, I REALLY like this one. Hilarious! :)

@Josey: I certainly don’t “enjoy” hating Republicans. I am, however, a member of the LGBT community, and as much as I can accept and respect someone’s view that I am a sinner [yet somehow they aren’t >.>], anything like I just “shouldn’t exist,” “shouldn’t ‘choose’ to be one” (LGBT is a birth condition, Religion is a choice), “shouldn’t have equal rights/protections under the law” and things get a tad bit personal. My personal opinion is you are free to think and say what you will, the second you start wielding legislation ‘against someone,’ “it’s on.”

But I’m not a far-left “Liberal.” I personally think they make us all look bad, just like uber-Conservatives do. And I call them on it. Lefties are, in my opinion, doing a better job of policing our crazies. Conservatives seem to be feeding theirs. Either that or they’re getting chased from their party by them. :D

Jae’da…in regard to your thoughts on extremism…I think it’s good to remember that the political spectrum is a circle. Going too far either way winds up in basically the same bad place. In regard to, “policing our crazies’,…ummm…one man’s (or woman’s) terrorist is another one’s freedom fighter. Who are these ‘crazies’ that we are policing? I, for one need more definition on that…& why are we policing them?

    Josey,

I have not paid much attention to your remarks but your aviator caught my attention so I read your bio. I have noticed you side with the liberals. Are you online at the library?

If your remarks keep going to the liberal side you may need to change your flag to Green Peace or NGLTF.

Review the humanitarian nature of “shock and awe” and carpet bombing most of Afghanistan, like Viet Nam, in the name of “bringing them freedom and democracy”. Hey, if you kill a few hundred thousand innocent people you’re bound to hit one or two guilty parties, right???

Regarding the “policing the crazies” queries:

We have women’s groups that think Obama doesn’t do enough for Women’s rights, that he’s not pro-Woman enough. Even though he’s changed the face of the administration so much in terms of how many women serve in positions of power there now. Public fact checking. Our pundits also tend to call them on it. That’s the most recent one I can think of off of the top of my head. I’m a fan of Jon Stewart and I like that he will actually make fun of the far-Left fringe. Now that’s not to say there haven’t actually been a couple of Right Wing’ers who’ve actually managed to speak up. Heraldo Rivera (and I’ve probably misspelled that) actually called Fox out (while on Fox) for the fearmongering they were doing during that news session, and there was some introduction of facts done in an e-mail response Fox News sent internally to itself where Major Garrett fact-checked a claim that Obama “ignores” Fox News.

    Jae’da:

You are clueless on this subject.

    My favored is:

“… Right Wing’ers who’ve actually managed to speak up. Heraldo Rivera … . actually called Fox out …”

You should provide back up for your claims instead of making unsubstantiated statements. Makes your point potentially look valid.

Cause I’m really hoping you’re going to say Heraldo is a Liberal, so that you make my original point look even stronger (the sole voice of reason NOT being a Conservative). It’d be like assigning an “R” to a “D” for a GOOD reason instead of a bad one instead of the typical Fox News rebranding the second one of those “R”s gets caught in a scandal.

“I can’t make heads or tails out of what you’re trying to say. ”

Ya, I admit sometimes my statements lack a coherent structure.

And, works for me, again, in the clip he basically calls out the fear mongering of that particular discussion as irresponsible.

As for the “R”/”D” thing Fox’s coverage of several recent senate sex scandals has included flipping the (R) to (D).

Warrior77 …I side with liberals? What? Perhaps you should actually READ my posts. I’m basically libertarian, though I recognize the need for SOME rules. I list my political affiliation as SOUTHERN NATIONALIST. See the League of the South for more definition on that (dixienet.com). As far as my flag is concerned…if you don’t like it, that’s too bad. My gr-gr-grandfather was captured twice fighting for that flag, & wound up doing 1 1/2 years in Gratiot Street Prison in St. Louis for it (1864-65). He had one brother who died in hospital in MIssissippi & another who deserted from Port Hudson, La., & was never heard from again. I’m not sure you really understand my flag, or what it means.

This «scottfreitas» is a real gas, as we used to say - here he complains about those nasty Democrats who «controlled Congress from 1932 to 1994 [he’s not too good at history - the Republicans controlled both houses of the US 80th Congress from 1947 and had control of the US Senate in several intervening years] and turned America [nor is he very good at geography ; the reference is to the United States, not to the two continents] into a complete cultural sewer along the way…», while stating in a comment on Gary Markstein’s cartoon of 10 November that «America is still, overall, the best country in the world to live in». «[C]omplete cultural sewer», «best country in the world to live in» ? Please do make up your mind, «scottfreitas» ! (Of course, if all other countries are also «complete cultural sewers», then the US could still be the best in a poor lot, but I don’t get the impression that this is what «scottfreitas» is saying.) And while you are doing so, please do tell us in which countries other than the United States you have lived and worked, in order to provide us with some basis for evaluating your rather obscure value judgements….

    Henri
