    @SusanSunshine: Look like sea urchins. The long sharp spines discourage groping. That’s how you tell the virgin mermaids from the more experienced ones.

    At my cousin’s memorial service, his sons put up a picture they meant to label “Fishing for stripers.” An unfortunate spelling error injected a little humor into a very sad time. Tim would have loved it.
