If I planned meals by servings per package I would starve to death.

Serving sizes on packages are never realistic. Even a 12 oz. can of soda is listed as 2 servings. Of course this allows the food manufacturers to misrepresent their products as being healthier than they really are. 100 calories per serving sounds better than 200 calories per serving, as long as you don’t pay much attention to the serving size.

Serving size is just the manufacturer’s way of compensating for the complete lack of nutrition in their products. It doesn’t sound so bad for you if you cut the totals down (sodium, fat calories, etc) to 5% of the actual amount people consume.

NG49, you can get the calories or fat content on their website. They also have all the fat content & calories on the boxes or wrappers, so not sure where you are coming from on McD’s?

Most people don’t bother reading the labels. And besides. WHY do we need to put NUTRITION lables on junk food anyway. If it was being consumed for its nutrition level it wouldn’t be eaten at all. Want healthy go to the produce dept. Want junk food, well there’s an APP for that too if you get my meaning. The Food Police can stay the F out of my mouth and those of my family. If I want to cheese doodle myself to an early grave that is my business.

@hariseldon59 For me, a 12 oz can of soda more or less is two servings.@Neo Blakkrstal You have a point regarding the “nutrition” content of junk food, but there’s still much more variety in snack food than there used to be. Meaning, if I’ve already decided to eat chips, it’s nice to at least be able to choose a bag with less fat or salt, which is where the labels come in. :)

There’s an error in that erase the decimal and add a zero at the end.

Eating the exact serving size in snacks is too unrealistic. Even small candy like skittles has like 5-6 servings per bag
