Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for June 21, 1986
June 20, 1986
June 22, 1986
Transcript:
Calvin: Arr! Look alive, ye scurvy scalliwags! Thars a frigate to board! Run up the skull and crossbones! Prepare the plank! Hobbes: Our ship is a plank. Calvin: And you're going to walk it, wise guy!
Sometimes Hobbes is a total buzzkill. I have to wonder how an imaginary friend can refuse to join his creator in a further extension of his fantasies (considering they also beat the crap out of each other on a regular basis – did the author of Fight Club get his inspiration from C&H?).

Calvin’s willing suspension of disbelief just got shattered. If Hobbes won’t belay that bilgewater, the Captain will leave him marooned on a sand bar.
