    We now see Hobbes as simply an extension of Calvin. Logically, Calvin would say, “As long as WE don’t get hungry.” Technically, Hobbes would say, ” Whaddya mean, “WE,” pilgrim?

    Ah, yes: the Cub Scout sequence. But the whole point was that Calvin avoided being with others–which rather defeated the point of being a member of the Cub Scouts….
