If you do too many things at once or do something while you’re thinking of something else, it’s not that hard to put something in the wrong place. I was a pretty absentminded kid and as a young adult had to learn to only put my car keys in a very few places so that I wouldn’t lose them. I still sometimes set a book down, don’t remember where, and have to backtrack to find it.
I had a funeral dinner at home back in the ’60s (that means I was still young) and I ran out of pot holders. I open the frig and there was a stack of about six or seven. Guess every time I used one I put it in frig instead of the cabinet by the stove. Made me laugh at myself in the midst of sad turmoil.
