Since I am the first one here, and I can see that this one will draw a lot of those ranting posts, I am going to waste some time and space to post a few of my rants. (Now that I’ve posted I see that I am not first, the prize belongs to Scott, which is fine with me since he agrees with everything I say.)

Obama and the Democrats do not have a plan to turn all of us into Socialist. Look at the Demoncrats – Do they look or act like a Party with a plan – do they look like someone who could put a plan into action if they had one?

It cracks me up that this child accuses others here of being arrogant. While many of us are trying to engage in reasoned civil debate, he’s busy yelling and screaming and calling everybody else “liars” and “Demoncrats” and “idiots” and “girls” (?) and “socialists” and other words he doesn’t understand at all. Oh yeah, and now we’re all apparently “exact copies of Satan”.
Man, if you’re ever unfortunate enough to be around this child, make sure he doesn’t have a weapon. He’s beginning to sound more and more dangerous.
I think the ‘toon is accurate. There is no way the media that bruoght us the Martha Stewart trial coverage, the Michael Jackson funeral coverage, the election coverage …..will behave rationally. All of it. The biased left and the biased right
If the terrorists are tried by a liberal judge appointed by the democrats. They may be back on the streets in a large city near you such as Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, Anaheim, Oakland, Minnesota, Detroit, or Cincinnati planning out there next bombing. I guess they will be thinning out the herd.
The very people that are for them will die for it.
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg (though citizens) were tried in federal court as operatives for a foreign government trying to do damage in the USA.
Timothy McVeigh (also a citizen) was tried in federal court for mass murder.
You will need to show in the constitution where the rights of equal protection under the law ONLY apply to citizens. In the case of 9/11, they were in the country legally, and they launched their attack from within the US.
As to the folks who were taken in Afghanistan: if they were taken in battle, then they really ought to be treated in accordance with the Geneva Convention, to which we are signatories.
I wasn’t first – sorry to have made that claim – but I was correct that the cartoon would draw a lot of comments, most of which are very reasoned and good – as for those that aren’t reasoned and good, well, even thought they would like to take away those rights from us, it is their right to say whatever they want, just as it is our right (and probably the right thing to do) to ignore them.
The trial will be a circus and will the acquitted be gifted with visa’s or citizenship as they apply under immigration reform? I worry about suicide bombers too. They won’t just be hijacking planes.
If these men have already admitted guilt, then why bother having a trial at all? Stand them up against a wall and run a clip in them. But that wouldn’t serve the disinformation campaign very well, would it, and the agent provocateurs that visit these boards would have one less thing to distract you with.

There is no precedent for trying mass murders in civilian courts? Is there any precedent that covers this crime?

Frankly, I believe this whole debate is rather inane. Perhaps I’m being naive but it seems to me that wherever the act was committed has jurisdiction.
