Lets have a storyline using several of the longtime GA characters, for a change!

Everybody put your heads down, and whoever took the car can just put it back, no questions asked.

He can’t leave town without his car so the storyline will continue til it’s returned.

I still think the Pastor is a phony. He’s probably the one who stole the car and in the end he’ll be swindling Mr Upto Nogood out of everything, including Miss Lisa. Watch, this story has to go somewhere.

Maybe Rufus and Joel took the car, thinking it was a piece of junk?!?

If so BuzzDog, they certainly made it INTO one (referencing the strip on them hauling Skeezix’ car).

I took it. I wanted a way out of this story and thought it was as good as any. Problem is it broke down before I got out the second panel. I was on my way to Gil Thorp when durn thing stalled and just wouldnt start. I think that rotten Marty DeJOng siphoned out the gas.

Boy, Rev. Peacegood really does look a lot like Skeezix, doesn’t he? Col. Coda must have gotten around a lot.

I’m thinking about writing an alternate storyline and just posting it in the comments, like I did at the old comicspage.com site three years ago. One strip per day, no more than could be expected to fit in the space available, no Sundays, but with Wallet family members other than Slim and Clovia at the center. I wonder if the mods here would be as tolerant as the ones at the other site? Especially with the story I have in mind…

I’d be game, Paul…I’ve missed your alternate stories! :) (I’m not a mod though…) Try it and see…

If past examples are any indication, this story line will come to an abrupt end, just as the previous story line about the blues harmonica player also ended abruptly.

And in both cases, there were unresolved issues, which probably means we haven’t heard the last of that story. Or this one, for that matter.

You’re probably right Blitz. I agree with several others who think that the last few stories are test runs for new characters. Let’s hope though that we still see plenty of the old.

Axe - that was a good one, grin.

I think the “end” of the Earl Lee Byrd story was a real curveball because I fully expected a wedding! He and Gertie may marry yet, but I admired how Jim had Gertie change her mind about Byrd only to find that he had left town broken-hearted. I hope Jim will pick it up again soon.
