So the next day when Holly returned home from school,after detention, she found the batteries missing from the TV remote, her radio and CD’S locked up and the Computer Password CHANGED! Looks like she has to choke - DO HER HOMEWORK!!

I like TheDoctor’s scenario best. Locking up the computer and hiding the remote is totally something I would do to my 16year old! 2 weeks ago I took her phone away, I thought she was going to implode!

Oh no Holly now you’ve done it. Now you have to get up at 5:00 to do your homework!

Poor Holly would now be learning that the world needs ditch diggers too. My kids still talk about how wonderful homework is compared to a shovel. LOL

Oops Holly shouldn’t have said this. My mom use to have a neighbor with kids boy and girl. The boy wasn’t doing so great in school took him to speciliast for help also would then get the son up real early to get school work done. The boy started to do better in school. The sad fact though mom didn’t like staying home and had to go all the time with the family this started to end. I am glad SS is picking up on readers fun strip.

Now days computer is very necessary with internet for school work. Where as celephone not. Students can email their homework to their teachers. When my daughter was in college she used the internet for school work assignments.

While I don’t disagree, that sure puts rural and poorer kids at an even greater disadvantage. And the rift just widens…

This is the reason why I’m glad I’m not married and have children! Their idea of going to bed early is at midnight, not at 9 p.m.

Getting them up earlier to do the homework they didn’t do the night before would be counterproductive, since Holly is already sleeping during class. Revocation of privileges combined with a clear contract covering how to earn those privileges back is the only solution.

Anyone else think Val is not a very good parent when it comes to Holly? Val knows Holly slacks off, doesn’t do her homework, etc. so why on Earth does she not make sure there is homework time after school and make sure it’s completed before bedtime?

I know all too well that that is what you have to do with a kid who slacks off like Holly. You hate to have to stand over them and make sure they do it, but it is what it is. I just wonder what in the world Val is doing while the girls are watching TV, playing on the computer, etc. all night long. Why is she not more involved with their schoolwork?

So, who’s the worse teenager, Jeri from Preteena or Holly. Personally I would say Jeri.

Yeah it’s here and it’s repeats. People gripe because they’re not at the right time of the year. Like right now Teena and Jeri are just starting Summer vacation instead of starting school and holidays are not at the right time. But it’s still fun to read.

As for who’s worse, Jeri or Holly, Jeri is more stuck up and conceited than Holly but Holly’s very lazy. It depends on which vice you find more repulsive.

okay, I’/m cool with lazy. Stuck up and conceited not so much!
