Kool Aid is another fine quality product from General Foods! Don’t mess with the USA!
Teabaggers maybe angry over high taxes & bad polices, but so were the voters of the last two elections!
The Teabaggers are not mad about tax increases, but about the biggest tax cut in history for 95% of the population. If there were a liberal media, you would know this, but the corporate media we have now has no interest in policies that benefit people at the expense of multi-national corporations.
All the current Republican party can come up with is an idea for publicity based upon—-TA-DA—Taxes. So what comes to mind but a gambit based on tea—let’s make that a tea bag! Big deal. I would welcome an intelligent Republican moderate party, so maybe when the dust settles, it will happen. In the meantime we have gimmicks.
Bush 43 enacted two massive tax cuts disproportionately aimed at wealthy (thus contributing mightily to deficit and debt). Obama gave a tax cut to middle class taxpayers who didn’t fare so well under Bush tax cuts. That’s three tax cuts in a few short years. What the heck is spurring on this tax revolt noise? Do the wingnuts not want to pay taxes at all?
You cannot reduce our national debt by cutting revenue. Our debt was $11 trillion when Bush left office. How do you want to pay for your guy’s debt, folks?
daniels, happy to oblige.
churchill what on earth are you talking about? The stimulus package included a two-year tax cut for low and middle income taxpayers, for years 2009 and 2010. The Senate reduced the tax cut from what Obama proposed and what the House passed. Obama proposed $500 cut for individuals, $1,000 for couples. The final bill included a cut of $400 for singles, $800 for couples. (I don’t know if the cut is larger for couples with children).
Obama’s plan called for implementing the cuts through lower withholdings immediately.
Congress passed a two-year tax cut … what part of that don’t you understand?
You know, if you don’t know what you’re talking about, at least don’t spread lies.
churchillwasright, apology accepted, of course. What’s most important to me is that the discourse we try to have with others be based on the facts available. What I’ve learned to do is backtrack to the source whenever I hear/read something that proves to be not factual. Then I know for the future to never assume that source is correct and to verify what I hear/read from that source.
and daniels is correct, I did not call you a liar. I did correctly point out that your repeated posts were spreading lies by saying there was no tax cut passed.
Again, thanks for acknowledging the error

“What tax cut from Obama are you talking about? The $13 extra you’re seeing is less withholding, you’ll still owe tax on it next April 15.”
Psst, “less withholding” is a tax cut.

I’m looking for evidence that Obama’s tax cut plan only deals with withholding, but can only find unsourced blogs.
Can you help me out here?
