Elly looks so pretty. The little girl is a real kick. I like the little smirk when Elly answers “the smirk”. Very funny. Job well done Lynn.

I guess Elly was a little surprised that Karen is not much older than Michael!

For RobbyC: she could see “the question” (or maybe the “you look rather young to have two children, Mrs. Patterson”) in Karen’s eyes.

I was thinking that Elly is a bit old to have kids that young. I was only 26 when my two were Mike & Lizzy’s age.

Isn’t that going to make her awfully old when April’s born? I hope it’s not a problem pregnancy. (Was it last time?)

If you ask her, you have to be prepared to answer the same question. Honestly.

I agree with RobbyC. It’s normal to ask kids their age, but an adult doesn’t have to reveal theirs. Elly’s hair does look lovely.

sure Elly looks pretty, Lynn stopped drawing that humongous nose on her face… maybe it grew when she got older….

    Imcdanl, remember “comic-strip ageing”?

When April’s conceived, Elly will be….39! (can’t remember if she hit four-oh between diagnosis and birth…)

If I were in Elly’s shoes, I will not tell that babysitter how old I am and then, I will tell her it’s none of her business and stay at home as babysit for two kids till midnight.

I have a lot of the books and Elly was in her 40s when April was born. In fact, Liz was 9. The same age my sister was when I came along! :-)

summerdog: I was 31 when my daughter was born and 43 when my son was born. Guess that means I’m too old to have kids!

The youngest mother was a five-year-old Peruvian girl.
