I’m afraid that B0B_E is right; remember the “U.S. out / U.N. in” signs at anti-war rallies. The Democrats (in Congress) voted to cause the mess just as much as the Republicans (although the Republicans came up with the plan). The difference is that the Republicans (especially in 2004, but even today in the McCain campaign) refuse to admit that any mess exists (at least not one caused by the U.S.).
