I don’t think Chuchy considers Arnold a Republican, and I know that the Far Right, who are now in control of the Republcian Party, don’t consider Arnold a Republican, in fact the Far Right would probably consider Chuchy a radical since he actually discusses issues with people.

    Duh - NY ??

Oldie, I only dislike the Austrians I’ve had contact with in one for or another. So far over several thousand. I should think there would be some good ones out there some where ! PS Haven’t had any contact with Gov Arnold yet.

churchill - Haven’t noticed the GOP kicking out Ahnuld. Nor did they kick out Bill Weld (though Jesse Helms blocked his appointment as an ambassador for some stupid reason). Nor Lowell Weicker. If there’s only one way to be in the GOP, then you’re as lockstep as the righties claim the Democrats to be. There should be a range within each party, if only to enable cooperation across the aisle. The GOP tightened down considerably a few years ago to focus themselves, which worked, but now it seems to have gotten to the point where it is self-destructive.

churchill–“as far to the right as Calif will go”? Ever been there? What makes politics in California so weird is that there are just as many hard-right people as hard-left – they just don’t get the attention. Orange County’s airport is John Wayne Airport! Sacramento proper is quite conservative, along with most of Northern California. So is Oakland, right in the shadow of San Francisco. San Diego is a major Navy base, and has lots of generally conservative Navy retirees.
