Hobbes should be more sympathetic - especially if he truly knows how he feels. What a fine friend he is.

My heart bleeds for Hobbes.

The hardest hours I used to work was 5:00AM to 1:00PM. I used to get up at 3:00AM or 2:30AM in the winter to drive a hour to work everyday. It was when I used to have all the programs on the computer run off, set up the coffee area, and pick up paperwork and distribute it, etc. Basically get everything together so everyone could sit down and not run around and just get to work. That was my float position which I loved! I learned alot and kept moving all day and could go to the store quick and make it home in time for the school bus everyday. I miss that job!

Why do I tiptoe around in the morning as not to wake SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED? At least my tiger gets up with me and rubs my ankles as I make coffee.

I’ve done this to my roommates before (when I had them). They’d all be sleeping while I had to get ready and leave for work by 6:30, so I’d ‘accidently’ make enough noise to wake them up.

Lest we forget Calvin you took Hobbes to school so he could scare the daylights out of Moe for picking on you.

How to start the day.

Dino-1, that sounds like a very useful and satisfying job. Knowing you’re doing something worthwhile helps to get you out of bed in the morning, I bet. Hope you were appreciated!

With my countdown to my 10 days off, I’ve been saying panel 2 to myself each day this week… :)

I used to hate getting up for school as well. Especially when it was dark and cold outside.

Reminds me of college. I was stupid enough to enroll in a 7:30 AM class. Alarm goes off at 6:30. The wind is howling, there’s a foot of snow, and class is a half-mile away. I often would roll over and go back to sleep. Somehow I passed.

Hey Lewreader and Takiniteasy, it’s great to see there are other fans of “Rumpole of the Bailey”. At least that was the name of the show as I remember it. When I was a young lad in college, it came on late at night just before “The Benny Hill Show”. On this side of the pond we didn’t get to see much BBC programs. I still sometimes refer to my wife as SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED.

I love Hobbes scowl in the forth frame. I feel like that most mornings.

I’m like Calvin in the morning… sigh… I really hate getting out of bed…

Dino you have great stories. This is risky how many grandchildren do you have? Me I’m not there. Merry Christ mas everyone and I don’t get up as early as commenters have.

Calvin, no fibbing (like panel 4). We all agree getting up sucks unless it’s to go somewhere you want to be, doing something you want to do.

Although, I’ve always thought waking up a sleeping child to go out into the cold winter morning for day care was the worst part of having to get up for work. One should never ever have to wake up a sleeping child, except for Christmas morning when they sleep in past 7:00!

Hm. Most places I want to go, and then the time and temperature don’t matter. Some places I don’t want to go, and then the time and temperature don’t matter either.

Strange. You’d think I’d be different, as much as I like to procrastinate and hate exposure.

idk i totally underatnd hobbes when my little brothr had his friends ovr to spend the nite @ my house, they’d get up 2 six in the morning and wake everyone up it drove me and my older brothers crazy

This strip really gives me a relation to my own life. I a late sleeper and almost all the time I would look at my 2 cats and pretty much go through the same process as this strip

And me and Calvin share a strong similarity when I was 6 -8 such as the fact we’re both blond, and we both sleep in on weekdays and get up at 6AM on weekends and holidays.

Hobbes has to sleep in , so he’ll have plenty of energy to beat the stuffing out of Calvin after school.
