Max, Calvin did not get the sarcasm of the last panel. Rather than sarcasm this is a situation that calls for a bit of applied psychology. Applied to the seat of Calvin’s pants

WC-I had the same problem yesterday. I had to completely get out of GoComics and re-start my computer. I think the problem is with THEM, not your computer. I keep getting re-directed to “IQ Tests” and “Dating (and I use the term loosely) Services” sites.

Redskinsfan - If an IQ test is required for dating now I know a lot of people that are going to be lonely. Boy, aint that the truth.

Redskinsfan, I was having that problem the other day too, it stopped, but I don’t know how.

If your computer insists on sending you anywhere regardless of whether or not you want to go there, it’s been infected with something relatively nasty. If it’s a dumb malware program, just restarting your browser will fix it. If it’s smarter, it’ll notice this, and restart itself. If it’s even smarter than that, it’ll even notice if you restart your computer. If it’s really smart, it can even notice if you’ve deleted it and reload itself. If it’s really, really, really smart it’ll not only reload itself but also disable all the antivirus and antimalware programs, and won’t allow you to reload them. I found one like that, and the only solution was to run an anti-virus scan from outside the operating system. I’ve seen ones that won’t even let you do that, and require a total rebuild of your computer. Nasty buggers. Get a good antivirus, use it, and never click on something that claims it will “clean up your computer”.

Before I went to school my mom would visit friends in the afternoon and take me with her. My two brothers were in school so I was the only kid with her. While she and the other lady sat at the table and chatted I’d go into the bedrooms and snoop. Oh boy did I get in trouble for that but well?? She wasn’t watching me closely.

Ahh, that reminded me of my youngest nephew did go through my luggage. In 1996, I visited my sister and her family in Maryland for my summer vacation. I stayed at their home for two weeks. I was not really aware that my youngest nephew went into the bedroom. I went into the bedroom and caught my youngest nephew in the act that he was looking through my luggage. I was so panic and told him gently No no no don’t do that. He already opened my medication and spilled few pills in my luggage. Whew! He did not take and eat the pills in his mouth. I explained to my sister about it. She was just wide-open eyes and said, “Oh no!” She went to youngest nephew and warned him not touching my things in my luggage. My youngest nephew was only terrible TWO years old! Sheeshh! I never forgot that happen.

Anyone having problems with being re-directed, other things…there is a great program (free) called Search and Destroy. I’ve used it for years. It catches a LOT of things paid programs won’t catch.

    ………………

Glad to know I’m not the only one getting bushwacked by those nasty popups and bugs. My antivirus has warned me several times about infections while visiting here. It cleans them out ok but they definately hang around the place.

On the “no comic issue”. Get Firefox if you don’t have it already. Then get NoScript. When you first come here, you won’t see the comics. Tell NoScript to allow gocomics.com Reload. You will then be able to see the strips with no problems with renegade ad sites hijacking your browser.

This strip was done many years ago, but it’s sure prophetic. Had it been today, Calvin rifling Uncle Max’s luggage would have been nothing compared to what TSA does.

At family gatherings all the coats got dumped on my parents’ bed. When everybody was busy playing cards, I used to sneak into the bedroom and go through all the coat pockets.
