He turned his brother’s famous, however plagiarized, call to work for the country, rather than asking the country to do for us, on its head.

Remember, all, only Charlie555 has enough personal responsibility to not be judged. Ted Kennedy’s lifetime of service to his country, mistakes, warts and all, certainly points, in spite of Charlie’s compassion-starved resentment, to a person who took “personal responsibility” to forward his vision of democracy. Define responsibility for us, Charlie. Did GWB embody it? Rumsfeld? Gonzalez? If any of them died today, what would you say? I’m sure, tho, that your churlish judgment of Senator Kennedy’s lack of responsibility will carry a lot of weight with God. Don’t die, Charlie; you too will be judged!

Peter, how did Ted Kennedy not work for his country? You spit out nastiness pretty quick, but it doesn’t make sense. Are you saying that he advocated laying back and lettin’ your country do for you? WTF?

Ted Kennedy atoned for his sins by his lifetime work for the poor, children needing health care benefits and his continued effort for universal health care in this nation.

Actually, the compassionate left does not need the excuse of a death to have a vitriol paw-aw. It’s been 9-year nonstop celebration, except for the few weeks in the immediate aftermath of 911.

What a preponderance of ignorance and self-indulgence!! You all deserve your mediocre lives. You are too mire down by your own self-loathing to pay tribute to one of our betters. Since you claim ignorance over knowledge, you will never know the beauty that comes from great men and women. Teddy belongs to the ages. I’ll pray for you, the lessors!

Interesting how the Right wants to smear everyone left of Attila the Hun as “vicious,” “vitriolic,” “Bush-haters,” etc., when they’ve actually been demonstrating that themselves in the process, and claiming patriotism. Well, I claim it too. Bush did more to destroy the Constitution and American moral principles than anyone since Nixon – and Nixon did a better job *as* President. We had an openly corrupt VP making money from sweetheart deals, a war we were deceived into fighting which turned us away from the real enemy, and the complete contempt showed for the rule of law and the American people. Nixon got kicked out in part for covering up his part in illegal wiretapping – Bush insisted that Congress make his illegal wiretapping legal retroactively! And you wonder why we get angry?
