My great nephew arrived to join the family this morning at 3:56 am (Eastern Time)….finally! He is a healthy 19" long and 5lbs. 10 oz. Everything went smoothly and everybody is happy!

Good morning kids. Hope all is well with everyone. A special welcome to Baby Lorenzo. The entire world is at your feet little guy..If it were that easy Fergus, I don’t think the big bird would be worried..Excellent job there StelBel. I do think that nationwide narcolepsy could be a problem though.

about ten years ago my moms next oldest sister gave mom a cutting from her christmas cactus.it has always bloomed for mom, usually around the end of November.late last month i gave all the houseplants a bit of fertilizer, the first since we moved to Oregon.look what popped out during the weekend.

i wish that my camera could take a better shot of it.all that white turns it into a blur. you cant see how wonderfully 3-D the bloom is.

happy that cactus is really pretty. So is the Norfolk Island Pine behind it. I have one on work desk (cactus) that blooms in December, and that’s it. I bought another one at Lowe’s on clearance for 50 cents that has red flowers. I am going to be anxious to see if it blooms again.

How was your day?

Shika, I normally read a few strips before I leave for work. Then I ease into my day by reading the rest when I get into work.

But today I came in to a bunch of audit requests that I’ll still be working on tomorrow. Like today, I will speed-read the rest from my e-mails tomorrow. I may or may not take the time to comment on a few strips at lunch.

StelBel I loved Styx, particularly The Grand Illusion album, but I think Mr. Roboto was their downfall.

My favorite 5 songs were Come Sail Away, Suite Madame Blue, Crystal Ball, Lorelei & The Grand Illusion.

I’m briefly back to say My Generation was a great song in its day, StelBel. It may be perfect for the occasion.

StelBel, I was a very big Styx fan until they came out with that album. Some of the songs I mentioned I consider to be 70’s rock classics. I think Mr. Roboto went into a direction that many of their existing fan base didn’t want to go heading into the 80’s.

Sorry, StelBel. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. But Styx was an awesome band in the 70’s. The 80’s were not kind to them.

I think that’s why I liked Mellencamp, Seger & Springsteen in the 80’s. They went with the flow, but I don’t think they sold out. And neither did the Stones.

I think I’ll add that I think that synthesizers were also the downfall of ELO. Their best music came from the 1972-1977 time frame. After that, the cellos and even guitars took a back seat to the synthesizer.
