Painfully, hilariously true, even more so than back in the 80s.

I’m having trouble believing that a city garbage collector makes that much more than a teacher…then or now.

conservatives say that teachers are a drain on society. that they cost too much. that they are overpaid, over-privileged. that they are scum. that they are the reason for budget deficits at local governments.

Mark of ignorance: misuse of “teabagger.” Errata, that should be Omnius of ignorance.

People paid by the public have an outsized sense of entitlement to the monies of others. One will never hear a conservative challenge the pay of one not receiving taxpayer funds. And no conservative will ever applaud taxpayer funding of any job that could be performed by the private sector. In contrast, leftists are so consumed with envy that they think they should set the pay for all in the private sector. And reward themselves the most for telling us how to live our lives.

He should economize, like using fabric instead of single use plastic ribbons in his Selectric. Typewriter ribbons are even more expensive and scarce now.

As the bumper sticker says, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.” Even Charles Dickens recognized this in the 1800s. From A Christmas Carol:

This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased.

The shocking thing about our local school district is that the administration get new buildings and free gyms while the teachers have trouble getting textbooks and paper.

30 years ago, I shared a house with a school teacher. As a grocery clerk, I made more than he. He’s no longer a school teacher.

This one simply keeps teaching his classes… No need to explain or complain… No one listens anyway.Simply do what you love and love what you do. If i was in it for the bread, I’d have become an engineer or a Doctor. Hmmm Could have been a Rocket Scientist or nuclear physicist.

If this teacher were so smart, he would just retire and become a city garbage collector.

One of my all-time favorites. Once, I copied this & put my company’s name over " A Public School teacher" ( with “Employee” at the end) & put it on the bulletin board…. It was a BIG hit! MANAGEMENT? Not so much…………………….
