I probably sound like the old grumpy who yells, “Get off my lawn”, but I agree that the downfall started several generations ago. Probably when there were so many fatherless kids after WW2..I decided when I was a young teen that I would never have any kids. I’d be in trouble for being too much of a disiplinarian. Contrary to popular belief, it IS legal in the UK to smack your kids, as long as you leave no lasting marks, cause damage or hit them about the head..It seems the done thing these days to have kids then leave them with the grandparents as often as possible in order to go out on the town.
