One of my minor superpowers: I never lose socks in the laundry. My wife didn’t believe me, she had a basket full of miss-matched socks before we got married. But, she soon learned it was real; 14 years, not one has gone missing.
If you can gain access to the inside of the dryer, you will usually find the socks have slipped out of the drum and are laying inside. Check the washer too.

That’s why I don’t have a dryer. And no missing socks either.

The only time I have a sock missing is when it finally appears in the sleeve of a shirt.

More socks are lost in the washer than the dryer.

Information may never be lost, but it can be totally confused if it falls into the wrong hands:
“There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don’t know.
But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don’t know we don’t know." – Don Rumsfeld

Mine never make it. Birds always build nest in the dryer vent.
