From Not Always Right: Getting Touchy About The ‘No Touchy’
I am working at Home Depot. A customer has been trying to flirt with me but takes it too far by reaching out to move my patches away from my name on my apron.
Me: Slapping his hand away. “You never touch someone without permission and especially unprompted!”
He tries to offer excuses, but no apology.
Me: “I’m not interested in hearing your excuses.”
Customer: “Fine! I’m gonna shop at Lowes from now on!”
Me: “Head put of our parking lot, take a right, and go about two miles up the road and see if they take your s*** any better than I did.”
I’ve seen this countless times. A friend told me that when he was with his girlfriend he thought “There has to be someone better for me.” but when apart it was “Gee, I really miss her.” I told him to go with his first thought. She was beautiful but as bright as a turnip (with apologizes to all the turnips out there). They married and it lasted about 3 years.
Another problem is that many abusers tend to be very charming to everyone, such that those on the outside will think “What’s wrong with her, he’s such a good guy!”.
