Not a difficult decision. Want US Aid, people of Israel? Until new elections are held there will be nothing more coming.
I don’t appreciate being part of a genocide because of our tax dollars financing it. Don’t respond the the barbaric horrors by Hamas last October justify it.
Israel is not making a good case for itself. It had world sympathy right up to the point it decided to out-murder Hamas. There is no scriptural mandate for the type of mass murder/revenge we are witnessing. This slaughter of children who just happened to be unlucky enough to be born in a Hamas-run, Israel-blockaded district is immoral at every level. It is also counterproductive in that this sort of action will never achieve peace or security for Israel. But then, Bibi doesn’t want peace or security because that would spell the end of him.
trump and Bibi are so alike. Always going the one step too far. Oct 7 was horrendous. I was totally with Israel. Then the “big guy” kills women and children by any method available, including dehydration and starvation.
I’m not there… I’m not living it…. so not sure what to think, exactly! But a while back I came upon this, and found it informative and profound enough to file it: ( make sure to unmute)
Gonna take more than a few loaves of bread to fix that mess. Just a thought but for the next few years perhaps channel the aid you currently give Israel to the Palestine people. No reason they could not be just as productive/prosperous as their neighbours.. given the same support.
Keep in mind that the Talibangelicals and many MAGAts firmly believe that a great war in the middle east is necessary to precipitate the second coming of Christ and therefore the more ugly things get, the better. They’re totally behind the atrocities. If I were the almighty, I’d be annoyed at people trying to force my hand.
The argument used to create the new Israel in ‘48 was that the land had been given them by God. According to the Old Testament, God told Abraham, “ I will give you this land for your descendants. I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky.” [paraphrased] The ironic thing is that Abraham is the patriarch of both Jews [through his son Isaac] and Arabs [through his son Ishmael]. Of course, after Isaac was born, Ishmael and mother were banished [Isaac’s mom seems to have been worried about his inheritance -as 2nd son: “the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son. . .”, Gen 21:10] but he would still be Abraham’s son by blood. And his descendants would be descended from Abraham. Not really sure that Isaac was “God’s” choice so much as Sarah’s.
I don’t suppose there’s ANY WAY to get both sides of this ridiculous “war” to start communicating with each other, is there? Childish temper tantrums of “well, HE started it!” provide no basis for compromise, now does it?
Incidentally, BOTH sides seem to be actings like “terrorist organizations” right at the moment, and, as far as I can tell, Gaza DOESN’T EVEN HAVE a government, so with whom does anyone bargain?

Netanyahu and Putin have something in common. They’re both desperate for Trump to be elected in November. Sorry, guys. Ain’t gonna happen.
