Sometimes you have “help” with your reputation. My only roommate in college wanted me out of the room so her rich, entitled bum could have a room to herself. She spread vicious rumors about me. I ended up moving to an empty room. I never had a roommate again. That last was easy, since Augsburg dorm opened up my sophomore year (they were nuns’ cells when it was School Sisters of Notre Dame).
On the far side of the mirror, beyond how you see yourself, is how people see you. What image is objective? Learn the lesson of Narcissus, and look away sometimes when appropriate.
Something I’ve said, “Just remember – the things you’ve heard about me, are probably as true as the things I’ve heard about you”. It has a wonderful ability to close people’s mouths.
The reputation of a man is like his shadow. It sometimes follows and sometimes precedes him, sometimes longer and sometimes shorter than his natural size.

You might be a hermit if your trash goes out more than you.

But…..what caused people to think you are a scumbag? You might want to examine how you are presenting yourself!

I believe that you should live and let live. Thus I don’t think much of other people. ;-)

Bible disagrees with you. I wonder why? Reputation and integrity are united.

I do worry about my character, she’s a level 81 Mage with the Archery Skill Tree and all the Magic Skill Trees maxed out! ☺

It is more like honor. It is difficult when one’s reputation gets praised while one’s honor is like a puddle at one’s feet…

Unusually deep for Aunty; solid advice.

Had roommates, lost a lot of stuff. Prefer being a hermit.

People been trying to change me since I started school in the 70’s. I’m still the same ole Royal PITA everyone loves to hate.

I never worry about what people have to say about me, that’s their problem. Some people can manipulate you if you let your ego get the better of you.

Character is what you do when no one is watching.
