What people like Trump would have you believe is that there IS no such thing as “objective truth,” and that all discourse is political. Therefore, what I say must be considered to be truth without any fact-checking at all.
NBC, Google, Twitch, Microsoft, UPS, Business Insider, EBAY, Citigroup, Disney, Amazon, Blackrock, NFL, Rent the Runway, Universal Music Group, Salesforce, Discord, Duolingo, iRobot, Macy’s, PayPal, Sports Illustrated, Unity Software, Wayfair, Xerox have all announced massive layoffs so far this year. Thanks Democrats. Great economy to run on.
Only once did I have a story of mine pulled before publication. It went through two desk editors … and the managing editor … and was rejected outright. It concerned a fight at City Hall between the mayor and a councillor, but it happened outside the council chambers … and I was the only witness.
Back in 2010 I was part of a group that was highlighting Technology in Los Angeles. The event hosted speakers from various groups to brag on their take on how to deal with the new realities. The LA Times was one of these groups and they made great speeches about their history and their abilities to protect our freedoms but when asked how they were going to cope with the ‘new’ trends of the internet, they admitted back then that they did not know. Back then they were afraid of this future and really did not have a plan on how to address it. Letters to the editor’s now can be posted along side breaking news. Billionaires will buy media to propagandize it or turn it to their hawking points of view. Brave new world we have here. I recently was targeted by fake news youtubers detailing attacks on judges and tRump in handcuffs. Equal voice in an unequal world looking to monetize something we use to take for granted. Truth in media as a protection of our community. Stay SAFE out their and keep paying attention folks. Its our one last line of defense.

But Lisa, you WANT to live under corporate oligarch rule, right?
If you’re attractive, maybe you can get a job as an ‘assistant’ to an executive. Don’t expect to keep the job once you hit your mid 30s, though.

Reporters are rare today. Now they are mostly publishing propaganda for their political masters.

The sad part is, it’s the press pouring the kool-aid and nobody wants to acknowledge it.

They did it to themselves when a decision was made to only do editorials instead of news. Going Woke didn’t work.

If you eliminated liars and biased political hacks, there would be no one left to apply. Kate McFarland already has a job.
Hey, I know! How about Jessica Tarlov?

I used to subscribe to the newspaper until it became all classified ads, advertisements, and obituaries.
