Who has tiny white whiskers?

(Or, who used to have at least one tiny white whisker?)

Iggy looks so sweet here, and guilty. But looks can be deceiving! As Ora Zella said, “How tiny we talkin’ here”. Ora Zella is now being voiced, in my mind’s ear, by Cindy Lauper.

Iggy? No! Wait, where’s Lupin? You know, the cat who often has the ‘zoomies’ at 2am? When the damage was done…

A whisker! Put it somewhere safe as a memory!

Or, you know, evidence or whatever.

A robber mouse?

Iggy is looking guilty, and OZ looks relieved. But is this the end of the story or just a red herring?

The smol cats look like they’re involved in the destruction.

The atmosphere is electric because Iggy’s about to be charged …

My question would be: ‘Was it deliberate damage, or a slippage accident caused by a misjudged leap?’

Aha. Of course it was one of em pesky pestilential pest mouseys. They has teeny tiny white hairs. And teeny tiny claws too. Case solved. Verdict given. Now cats you has to finds them criminal mouseys and eats them.

Hmmm…don’t think it was Oz…she would so own those scratches!

Oh! P.S. I just realized that Puck is saying, Me? And pointing, at himself!

See? Me tolds you micey infestation is never good. Micey is never nicey. Next they will eats all your clothes, contaminates all your foods, gnaws all your cables, and drills holes all over your walls and bring terrible plague upon peoples. Better puts an end to em pesky pestering perennially pestiferous pestilential pests before it too late! A house with six cats and still a micey infestation? How it can be!

Speaking of mice, I have another mouse in the house. I suspected this last weekend but saw just a tiny bit of evidence. The evidence has become more apparent. I’ll have to set my live trap, but the problem I now have, we had six inches of snow yesterday and if I trap it, I don’t have the heart to release it in the snow like this. I’ll have to set up my aquarium again until the weather gets dry enough to release it, I guess. We thought we’d sealed up all their entry points but must have missed one. *sigh

Is that Lupin’s tape recorder? Goldie never returned it.

Poor Iggy. The walls are closing in…

If you didn’t want claw marks on the furniture, then why did you get it?

They’ve had cats for how long and this is the first time the had claw marks?

Don’t worry, Iggy. Don’t say a word. We’ll get you the best lawyers.

Bea: Not to worry. I’ll just put on another space-time slip cover and this one will repair itself yesterday.

Ah yes, Sherlock Goldie, but did you consider that the perpetrator may have squeezed their claws together to give the impression that the marks were made by a small paw, and that the perpetrator, in another effort to throw you off the track, may have left a white whisker behind too distract you. Cats often will break a whisker, something that a cunning perpetrator could find and plant for you to discover. One must always look to the motive, for the motive is the key to solving the case.

In the case of murder, one should always look at the shoes as well. The murderer will often destroy the clothing they wore, but not the shoes. People are funny that way, they find a pair of comfortable shoes and they are loth to part with them. Many a murderer has been caught because of their shoes.

Poor lil Izzie is looking worried. But, then, he might be worried about one of his new(ish) BFFs getting tossed into the doghouse.

. . . but, then, it wouldn’t be a serious mystery without multiple suspects! :-)

Where’s Goldie’s deerstalker?

I hate to say it, but I believe either Iggy or OZ to be the culprit. They, and only they, have paws small enough to make those scratches.

But you can’t prove that the whisker wasn’t already there from a time before the incident

I’m convinced it’s Lupin. 1-29 of BCN, panel two, shows Lupin with a feigned indifferent expression as he announces the furniture scratching incident. Ultimate cat strategy when something bad happens!

I keep all whiskers. Sometimes I can identify from which cat they fell from. Only 1 kitty is solid black so no problem there.

Please Not IGGY!!!! Poor darling has that sad face again. ((((((IGSTER)))))

So it’s either one of the kittens…or Elvis. (Because, you know, he’s old. :P)

I’m still voting for Lupin. And if it was Iggy, I’m still blaming Lupin.

Hmm, a tiny white whisker. Not much of a clue, but it will have to do for now.

Lots of cats have white whiskers, even solid black ones. For that matter, I have thousands of white whiskers. That could be one of mine. And, as I have no claws on my island-sized paws, it could not have been me—but it might be my whisker.

I’m liking Iggy for this one, over the more obvious Ora Zella.

Oh, please tell me the bad cat that did it gets kicked out of the house! We need some movement in this comic strip. Bye Iggy!

Was the clue on the floor in yesterday’s strip the tiny white whisker?

Poor Iggy. He looks a little worried.

The whisker could have been lost by any cat at any time and is not exactly a clue to the couch-scratcher at all.

Poor Iggy looks so worried. It’s okay, furniture is inanimate, it can’t feel the pain of tiny claws. Tiny claw owners are much more important than any silly furniture anyway.

OT: What was your favorite picture book as a child?

I am interested to know your favorite picture book. Who knows? There may have been a scroll of it in Ancient Egypt.

It seems like the perp is doomed.
