Go buy her something from a small store on the other side of the state.

It will be difficult for Brutus to find a gift that satisfies Gladys. While he will receive a tie, as usual.

Is a recept what in my country we call a sales receipt or a return receipt?

If he gives her the gift of love will she return it?

So, for Gladys, it’s really the receipt that counts. Get her something very small, but in a very big box. Perhaps a prepaid VISA card.

If you don’t include a gift recept, the gift will go in the receptacle.

I ask my family members what they want. That way I don’t get them something that they don’t want or have to return. If it’s “I don’t know”, then they get a gift card.

Brutus is trying to think how he can get a gift receipt for his homemade tea cozy that he was going to give her.

Brutus is probably going to get her a vacuum cleaner and a can opener…

Covering her bases it would seem. However, I shop all year long for gifts for the wife in that if I see something that I know that the wife would like, anytime, I buy it then, especially jewelry. Got enough main Christmas and Birthday gifts for 5 years. I get her the smelly stuff that she likes and bath soaps. I get her a cook book that she likes but never uses and a new set of pajamas. As she does like to sew, I will get her something for that if she hints that she needs/wants. Problem solved. My daughter and her husband even even easier. Just give them cash. Me. I don’t need anything. Take me out to lunch sometime at a restaurant I like and that is cool. Though, as a person who appreciates a very good stout beer, bottles of my favorite are most definitely appreciated…..

I am like Gladys on this topic. I won’t write out a list, I want to be surprised – and I do not at all like cash or gift cards. I do, subtly, give out hints throughout the year. Luckily the gifts mostly go to the children now. I have asked this year for some work to be done for me and I will pay for the parts. What I need these days is help for some things I can’t do myself. It was the first time I ever came out and specifically said what I want for a gift. It is very rare that I have ever needed to return anything. Things were easy for my ex – I wore a size 5. Clothes, shoes and rings, all size 5 (American sizing.)
